Better search functionality
I just improved the search functionality on the site after some thought during tonight’s livestream. Now if you search for something that matches the name of a gallery tag, it will return results for all galleries with that tag applied, not just the ones that have something matching in the gallery title. For example, “anime” used to have no search results, but searching like so https://rin-city.com/?s=anime will now bring up the (currently) 7 sets that have the “Cosplay: Anime” tag set. Hope that makes things easier for folks, and as always, feel free to reach out here or on Discord with any feedback about the site.

Server Upgrade
I will be upgrading the server operating system next weekend, likely on Saturday November 15th, or on Sunday the 16th if I am unable to do it on the 15th. The server will likely be down or show errors while I work on the upgrade, which I expect to take around 4 hours or so. I’ll keep folks notified of the status of the upgrade in Discord and will make another post here when the work is complete.

New Album URL and category links
Hey all,
I spent some time revamping the main album page to be much more performant, and it is now live. If you’ve bookmarked the Member’s Gallery, please update that bookmark to point at https://rin-city.com/members-gallery/
The new album page displays all galleries, no pagination required. It also allows for direct linking to category filters, like https://rin-city.com/members-gallery/?envira-category=envira-category-103 links directly to all B&W galleries. You’ll also see on the album page that the side bar has a full category list, with the count of galleries that have that category applied. Some top level categories also have a triangle icon you can click to expand and show the subcategories that it contains. (Categories like those with 0 galleries applied will not be linked, they are just shown to be able to display the subcategories… while the Cosplay category makes sense to be applied directly to galleries, Hair Colors does not, as an example.) Gallery pages also show the list of categories applied to that gallery, with the total count and links back to the filtered album page.
Please reach out if you have any problems or future suggestions!

New Random Set URL
Hey folks, just wanted to mention the new URL I added to the site, Random Set. Each time you load that page, it will randomly redirect you to one of the 325+ different sets that are on the site. It’s a great way to revisit some of the awesome older content available as a member. Enjoy, Rinizens!

New Subscription Levels:
I added some new subscription options here after talking with Rin and another member. They are now available; 1 month non-recurring ($25) and 6 & 12 month recurring ($85 and $150 respectively).
Note: you can’t upgrade to change your subscription tier (it’s an Epoch payment provider limitation, there is nothing we can do about it), you have to cancel and resubscribe after it expires. Canceling also has to be done directly through Epoch, not the site. Let us know if you have any troubles with things.

Welcome to the new site!
Welcome to the new version of Rin City’s website! This has been a long running migration project that we’re finally wrapping up. If you’re having issues, please reach out to admins@rin-city.com or through the “Report a Problem” link in the footer. Things may be a bit different than before, but this should be more sustainable than the previous content management platform, which was extremely expensive. Feedback is always welcome and will help shape how Rin and I update things moving forward.
Enjoy the new look!

Pardon the construction
Please bear with us as we fine tune things here on the new version of the site. We’ve been trying hard to get things set up with as close to feature parity to the software powering the previous version of the site, but there will be some unavoidable differences. However, there are some new things that we will be able to do here that were not possible under the old site.
Feel free to leave comments about this version of the site; feedback is always welcome, and we will do our best to resolve any issues that arise. If you want to discuss things more privately, please email admins@rin-city.com and Rin and I will look it over.
